Sssssshhh......is it a thief or is it a ghost... ?

My First Day in America

thud.... thud........oh my god !!!....who is that ...what noise is that....who is walking outside in my Home....there is nobody outside.......my friends just waved me good bye....and left for work....I am alone at 8:00 o clock in the morning......and I can hear some noise in my living room .....is that a thief .....or a ghost or something........I hope not .....what will I do... I don't even know anyone ....I just arrived a day before .......I don't even have the phone in this room ....well let's just lock the door....whoever it is can take anything he likes from the living room......ohhh no....... there is no lock in this room...what should I do ...make be just call out or scream ...that might help.....I hope so ....

"okay whoever you are ....you may take anything you choose from the living room ....but please just leave....or I'll scream....and call the police.... "that was my so called "thamki"

After half and hour of waiting and no response from the outside .....I finally gathered some courage and came outside and realized that  I was hiding from my neighbors...who lived above our apartment...unfortunately the floor was so weak that I could hear every single step that they took and trace their movement.....which made me nervous and scared .......thinking that I have either a ghost or a thief in this apartment....

Well that was a new experience for me ...specially after coming from India....where the houses are all made of bricks and cement...."you could hear nobody but could see so many at the same time ".....I guess that was the difference here...."that you could hear so many but see nobody".......

Ladies ....Welcome to America....

Lesson Learnt the Hard Way...

"Always remember to draw your margins"
Yes this was the hardest and perhaps the most painful lesson I learn from Mrs Mukherjee (teacher of class 5 section B in La Martiniere Girls School in Lucknow) who took her wooden scale and hit my left hand knuckles, that was the first and the last time any teacher had to use a scale on me......but honestly it was painful then and still to this date ...had a blue hand and a bump for 2 weeks then ...but yes I eventually learnt my lessons for life...."to draw my margins"....

We all learn new things everyday....now let me share some good lesson that I learnt here....the hard way...well not the way Mrs Mukherjee made me learnt ....but still good enough

Lesson No.1
Don't talk too much when you are being asked a simple question in any interview, you will end up confusing the Interviewer for sure and in the end it will come to bite you later .....Remember keep it to the point.....trust me that would be enough.

Lesson No.2
Don't trust any little cute face who shows up on your door asking you to subscribe to a free newspaper for 30 days, so that he/she may be able to win a Free trip to Disney.....you will receive a Bill at the end of 30 days

Lesson No.3
Don't put your embroidered clothes in washing, the beads and threads would come out or woolens in Dryer, as it will shrink for sure.

Lesson No.4
Don't put away your Hot pressure cooker on the kitchen platform....it will burn and you will be charged for it...

Lesson No. 5
Don't waste your precious time scrubbing your old apartments floors too hard as you will still be charged no matter how very clean you leave your apartment.

Lesson No.6
Don't use Bleach when you are washing colored clothes...until and unless you are absolutely sure about the quantity. Or use bleach safe for colored clothes.

Lesson No 7.
Don't use bleach on carpet  to clean/wipe a curry stain.

Lesson No.8
Don't punch at the doors, if you have to express any reaction either watching a game or in an angry  argument....the door of the apartment might break and fall back on your head ...unfortunately you will be responsible to fix it .....

Lesson No 9.
Don't ever use your dish washing liquid soap in your dishwasher....otherwise you'll have a bubble swimming pool in you kitchen in no time...and good luck cleaning it up.....

Lesson No 10
Perhaps if you are trying too hard to fix something and you are not able to find a solution to that problem ...trust me you are definitely doing it the wrong or the complicated way (or putting in too much effort to solve it)....and the solution lies in finding the simplest way possible you could imagine....because its all about doing things the most convenient way possible here.

So here are the Few tips, lessons whatever you wish to call it...... that i could remember ....would be adding some more .....later ....till then my friends .....take it easy...
