Welcome Visa Wives...This Blog is dedicate to all you wives around the world, who are residing away from their home country, friends and family, and are either not allowed to work or study because of their visa status or any other good reason (children etc)....

Hi,my name is Aishwarya , I am a visa wife myself.....the reason I started this blog is to share my story with all of you. Also to give you all a respectable platform where you might be able to share your own story and for you to find some friends online who might be feeling the same way coming from different parts of the globe. Share your story about sacrificing your careers, jobs, family whatever you left behind at your home...your precious memories....

Talk it all out to somebody who is just like you....can understand you, without judging you and perhaps giving a comfort & hope for a wonderful life to look forward to.... working ...being independent and giving you the respect that you deserve and letting you know that you are not alone.... make some new friends for life perhaps ....

Well here is my side of story
I came to USA seven years ago ...the year was 2003 , I still remember leaving my family and friends and loved one and saying my final goodbye to them in India . It was hard much harder that I thought it would be. ….for the first two yrs I was on visa status which allowed me to do nothing....and then I was on H4 for the next 4 years that allowed me to study without working.... which literally meant a depended wife for a long time .....of an H1 holding hubby....still my hubby supported me thru and thru in my education, in dealing with day when I feeling low, depressed, gloomy, loss of confidence, but the only thing that I did not let it go was the Hope that one day everything would be the way I want it to be….

There was a phase in my life when I had literally no friends in local area to talk to or to share my thoughts, my feelings, little moments of happiness or desperate thoughts to go back home and to be with my family and friends...

But now that's a thing of past as of today I am graduate in Economics....happily working...looking after a 2 yr old ...who keeps me on my toes......have a huge social circle...and few wonderful friends and Family who always stand by when I need them the most....a supporting and a loving hubby....and a undying desire to help others who might be going through the same depressing phase...of loneliness....and homesickness.....and hopelessness.

So share your opinions, advices, stories, recommendations, tips, hobbies, interest, recipes whatever you think might help, others and you.......in getting inspired, motivate or ...to live a better live.....in a home away from home....

Disclaimer: This is my opinion about the subject matter , no harm or no bais against any law or country is meant.

  1. I agree with you Aishwarya...what a nice way to pen down everyday struggles. Sometime all you need are a few words of encougarment and a good friend who would just listen to all the crap that you have to say …and not judge you …thanks for being that friend.
    Happy Monday..
